Dan Sheehan has rocked venues and airwaves across the United States and beyond as the singer and guitarist for the bands Banter and The Dan Sheehan Conspiracy, and as a solo performer.

The Dan Sheehan Conspiracy

The Dan Sheehan Conspiracy began as a studio project for Dan to unleash his full range of creativity after being in the democracy which was his previous band, Banter. Released in early 2008, the self-titled Dan Sheehan Conspiracy features Sheehan on guitar, bass, and vocals accompanied by drummers Spencer Cobrin (Morrissey, Elva Snow) and Roi Star (Dog). The album offers a wide range of material from the ballady "Before You Wake" to the prog-rock "Epic Fantasy Adventure Song." Rockers such as "See Kay," "The Valley" and "Comatose" were staples at college radio, garnering the album numerous CMJ chart placements, while the psychedelic rap rocker "Collateral Damage" spoke out against the war in Iraq with its haunting chorus of mindless drones chanting "embrace the random morals we dictate." The DSC received its first airplay on WBAB-FM Long Island and went on to be played on over 200 radio stations in North America and Europe.

Prior to the release of The DSC, Sheehan assembled a live band to perform the songs which evolved into the current DSC lineup of Sheehan, bassist/vocalist Gianluis Rosado, drummer Dave Mason, guitarist Simon Kono and multi-instrumentalist John Reicherter. This lineup of the band will be appearing on The DSC's second album to be released in late 2010.

BANTER

Banter was founded by Dan in Boston, MA, in the late 1990s and quickly became a favorite of the Boston club scene and press, performing regularly at such legendary venues as The Middle East and TT the Bear's in Cambridge, MA, CBGB and Brownie's in New York, and The Living Room in Providence, RI. The band was frequently featured in Northeast music magazines such as Metronome and The Noise, the latter proclaiming "Springtime in February" off of the 2002 release Urban Pastures to be "the unofficial theme song of Central Square, de facto home of the Boston music scene." Banter's music also graced the airwaves of the Boston commercial radio stations such as WAAF-FM and WBCN-FM and college stations WERS-FM and WMLM-FM, as well as being featured on New England Cable News.

Banter played a supposed final show in Somerville, MA in July of 2004, but resurfaced as Dan Sheehan & The Banter All-Stars featuring Sheehan, longtime drummer Joe Smith, and touring bassist Elizabeth Walsh at the 2009 Red Gorilla Music Festival in Austin, TX. paving the way for a full Boston reunion in 2010 featuring Sheehan, Smith, guitarist Jeff Gourde and bassist Doug MacBride.
